They settled for some time to the north of the Anduin. These Horse People of Northmen called themselves Éothéod. King Thengel The Kingdom of Rohan was established in the Third Age, when the cavalry forces of the Kingdom of Rhovanion were destroyed by Easterlings and forced to flee beyond Greenwood the Great.
